Dawn
You illuminate the darkness
Insinuating ever so gently
A little ray of hope which shines so brightly
I don’t fear darkness as you light my passage
You herald the genesis of a new day
A chance to start anew a fresh page
To fill a blank canvas, and a diary page
A chance to feel reborn again
I love you best in your nascent phase
I breathe in deeply the misty air
The moon’s silhouette hides behind a nebulous midst
A rich palette of pastels, colors the firmament
I feel more keenly an intimate connection with God
As the darkness evanesces, rendered helpless
Against the splendor of your energy
I am humbly grateful for yet another day
I decree with intent that it will be a good day
As I wash away impurities of the body
I choose with care my vestment for the day
Opting to reject the cloak of fear
A chorus of birds chirps to greet you
If I close my eyes I strive to hear
The music of the spheres
As we dance around your majestic sun
